Winter Market Layouts for Scrap Shotz - Part 1

Hello crafty friends! I'm back today with some fun winter layouts using the Carta Bella "Winter Market" Collection

Who's ready for winter? My daughter just loves the snow. I wish I shared some of her enthusiasm. But I thoroughly enjoyed using this snowy paper to document her love of the snow. I found the snowflake cut file in the Silhouette Store made by Teresa Collins. I cut it on plain white paper. I added some Glitter Glitz Gel by rubbing it on with my finger. The enamel dots added some nice contrast.

The title is a cut file from Jillibean Soup. I love a script font mixed with a print font. The papers are all from the Winter Market kit except for the white cardstock and glitter paper. I used this paper to frame the picture. It is pretty thick, bumpy paper so I think it would be difficult to run through a cutting machine. The remaining embellishments are from the ephemera pack and the sticker sheet that comes in the kit.

How cute is this sledding fox? I really wanted to document the sled hill in our front yard. It's about the only bonus to a steep driveway. I couldn't resist making this fox which can be found in the Silhouette Store. I cut out every piece on a white piece of cardstock. I used some distress inks with a blending tool and the brighter colours are distress paint. The black was done with a Sharpie. It was really fun to make.

The white hills are made with Bazzill textured cardstock. The title is Simple Stories Color Vibe Alphas. The embellishments are all stickers from the kit and enamel dots.

Thanks for checking out this collection. I'll be back with more next week.

Baby Shark Layout

Summer holidays means time for me to scrap anything I feel like! So today I wanted to scrap these pictures of my nephews singing the Baby Shark song. I used some random background paper from my stash and a bunch of cardstock. The green paper is Splash Dance from Imaginisce. It feels good to use some old stuff and still be happy with how it turned out. The title cut file is from Paper Issues and the shark is from Studio Illustrado.

Baby Shower Decor with the June Scrap Shotz Kit

I'm here today to show you a unique way to use the June Scrap Shotz Kit. This weekend I got to throw a baby shower for my new nephew. Of course I wanted to use the June kit. The kit is full of Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack goodies. It has more of a nature theme. It is not the traditional cutsie baby stuff but the colours are exactly what my sister-in-law likes. Grey, black and teal. So I made a banner and a card.
The banner was really easy to make. I chose a size for the flags on a scrap piece of paper and traced it onto the star paper. I used the Bazzill teal cardstock and my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the doilies. The letters are cut from the Bazzill carbon cardstock. Behind each letter I put a moon. I cut them out from one of the 12 x 12 papers. I'm pretty lucky the baby's name is only four letters otherwise I would've run out of paper!
I found some black ribbon in my stash and stapled it to the flags while tying a bow between each flag. I covered the staples with the washi tape in the kit. My final touch was adding stars from the ephemera pack.
Here is a closer look at one of the flags.
The card was fun to make. I used one of the cut apart cards from a paper in the kit for the inner frame. I used the kit Thickers for the title and an ephemera heart. The frame is a cut file from a "Friends" collection. My sister-in-law loves Friends so I had to use this. The design is cut from a wolf pack paper and the black paper is the Bazzill carbon cardstock. The background paper is also in the kit.
Here is a last look at the two projects together:
Thanks so much for taking a look at my projects! The party was great and the banner is going on Theo's wall. I encourage you to try using your supplies in unexpected ways!

One in a Melon Layout for Paper House Productions

I'm so excited to share this layout! We were challenged this week at Paper House Productions to use at least three different types of stickers. I know it is January, but a girl can dream of summer, right?
So I pulled out the summer collections and noticed I had a lot of watermelon stickers. I knew I had a watermelon picture so I went from there. I found this watermelon cut file in my stash from Paper Issues. I cut the title from black cardstock and played around with all my watermelon supplies!
I used gesso on the background. Once it dried, I added some red paint mixed with water. Then I splattered some red and black paint. The watermelon at the bottom is made from two corner pockets for a planner. At the end of the day, I used puffy stickers, 3D stickers, cardstock stickers, flake stickers and 2" stickers.

Stargazer Layout for Paper House Productions

This week we are featuring the Stargazer line at Paper House Productions. This is a new line of paper and stickers and if you like purple - you will be thrilled! I love purple, so this was fun to use. Right away, I thought of space when I went through this collection. Our family visited the Kennedy Space Center a few years ago and of course I have yet to scrap all my pictures. This was the perfect collection to get a few more pictures in the album. I chose a picture of my daughter touching a moon rock and a picture of the Apollo 14 Kitty Hawk.
I had to use this gorgeous paper as my background. I also did a search through my cut files for anything with stars and came across this Paige Evans file. It is concentric stars so I had fun playing with them. I cut them from a double sided paper so some stars are the front of the paper and some are the back of the paper. The whiter portion of the center star is the background paper showing through. I embellished with faux enamel stickers and a pack of 3D space stickers. I was pretty happy with how the picture of the lunar module looks like it could be part of the sticker collection. I didn't want to write on the background as it was a little dark, so I used some planner stickers. My final touch was to outline the center star with washi tape.

Marvelous Smile for Paper House Productions

Hello everyone! Here is my first layout of 2019! I made this for Paper House Productions and the assignment this week is to use a paper pad. It was hard to pick just one paper pad. I have so many favourites, but in the end, I wanted to back a cut file and the Color Washed Paper Pad lends itself nicely to this technique.
I cut the butterflies out using a cut file by Paige Evans in the Silhouette Store. I used a thick white cardstock. To back each butterfly, I pulled several papers from the paper pad. I traced one of the cut out butterflies and cut it leaving a bit of extra paper around the traced outline. I trimmed it until it fit nicely and then used it as my stencil to trace for all the other butterflies. Luckily, all the butterflies are the same size so I traced them all, cut them all and then adhered them all. I love how the background is mixed media, but doesn't require any of the work! It is a paper in the paper pad. The title is from the Marbleous collection but the banners are part of the cardstock stickers that come with the paper pad. I used Glue Dots to pop them a bit higher off the page since my other stickers are 3D and pop up as well.

- Color Washed Foil Paper (background)

So Very Merry for Paper House Productions and Thermoweb

This week the Paper House Productions team is teaming up with Thermoweb. They have all sorts of foils and adhesive products. I've never used foils before so this was a lot of fun adding something new to my repertoire.
What better way to show off foil than with Christmas lights? I've been wanting to use some of the cut files I've purchased so the Paige Evans tree became my starting point. I sprayed mist on the tree and spread it with a paint brush. Just before it dried I sprayed it with Color Shine.
I cut the Christmas lights with my Silhouette Cameo. The cord was in black, the lights in white. I used a glue pen to spread adhesive on the lights and let them dry. Then I placed the foil with the color side up and pressed it firmly into the adhesive. Then I peeled the foil liner away. I also foiled the star on top of the tree and the title. I also used black photo corners from Thermoweb to add more interest to my photos.
I outlined the tree with a pencil on my base paper. Then I spread yellow ink with a foam dabber. To finish off the layout I used the Paper House micro stickers to add touches to the tree, stars to the background and presents under the tree.
Please check out the links below for some awesome products and make sure to see what the design team has been creating all week!

I used a cut file from Paper Issues. I backed the circles with the gold circles from a Christmas Joy paper. The stars I covered with a variety of gold star stickers.

Just procrastinating away making layouts. I joined the Monochromatic challenge at Paper Issues. I chose pink as my colour and black and white were allowed. I used this picture of the kids. Lake Life Layout

I wanted to use the current sketch at Stuck Sketches which uses 4 photos. I rarely have 4 photos of the same event so I found these lake photos. I have lots of beach supplies from Paper House Productions so I decided to use the Lake Life Collection. The diamonds at the top of the sketch made me think of this triangle cut file from Paper Issues. I cut a few extra triangles to back in a darker brown to add some more interest.
Here is the sketch:

Noel Layout for S.I.T.

I'm back at Sketches In Thyme with a Christmas layout this month. My daughter loved her stocking presents so it was fun to capture them on this layout.
Here is the sketch:
No automatic alt text available.
I opened random snowflake cut files and drew circles the same sizes as the sketch. I moved them around until I found snowflakes and circles that looked good together. I welded them so the machine would cut snowflake frames. I used textured cardstock to make it more interesting. The smaller snowflakes are from punches. I used ribbon to separate my background papers and some glitter glue to make the snowflakes sparkle. The snowflakes ended up too big to all be on one side of the layout so I spread them across.
Supplies
Crate Paper: Falala
Silhouette Cameo cut files (one from the Hip Kit Club)
Glitter glue
Craft Smith textured cardstock
Core'dinations black cardstock
White pen

I'm So Scary It's Cute Layout for P.H.P. and Tombow

We get to show off a bunch of cool products this week on the Paper House Productions blog! There is even a 25% off sale happening, so if you would like some Halloween products just use the code: SPOOKYDT17 valid Oct. 8 - 14, 2017 in the Paper House Store.

I used a free spider web cut file from Paper Issues. The title is a cut file from the Silhouette Store. The rest of the products are form the Wicked Good or Life Organized Halloween collection from Paper House Productions. They have the cute pockets (cat and ghosts), puffy stickers, 3D stickers (that skeleton's arm moves!) and cardstock stickers. I just love how this turned out!
Here are the Tombow products I used. The Mono Glue Pen in the picture was fantastic for adhering all those spider webs and the tiny letters in my title. The TwinTone markers were great for journaling.
Thanks for stopping by and have a Happy Halloween!

Beautiful Bubbles Layout for P.H.P.

I received the Color Washed Paper Pad from Paper House Productions and it is a stunner. There is so much gold foil! I made this bubble layout with my daughter in a purple polka dot dress because the paper pad has these gorgeous purple papers (which are not that common). I used a free cut file from Paper Issues and a few butterflies from the Paper House Productions Butterfly Project Pad.
All the embellishments and the title can be found in one of the paper pads making this an easy project. I didn't have to hunt through my stash to find stuff.
Here are some close-ups.
And another close-up.

I was inspired by the sketch at My Creative Scrapbook and chose to scrap some pictures of our visit to California.
Here is the sketch:

I chose a font and cut the word Monica with my Silhouette Cameo. I misted the background and stitched the sun and adhered it after so it added more dimension. I used a punch for the banner. The sun is a free cut file from Paper Issues and I'm going to put this layout in the Product Spotlight.

Friendship Cards for P.H.P. and My Sentiments Exactly

Hello! Today the Paper House Productions team has tried out some stamps from My Sentiments Exactly. I received the friendship stamp set. I decided to make two cards using the Be Happy Paper Pad.
I folded 8.5" x 11" white cardstock in half and adhered a background paper. Then I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the flowers. I used some black ribbon and stickers that came with the paper pad. To finish it off I used a stamp with white ink. On the inside of the card, stamped another sentiment.
For the second card, I repeated the first step and then adhered a cut apart card from the paper pad. I fussy cut some flowers from another copy of the cut apart card to balance the card. Then I used a stamp with black ink for the sentiment. The photo corners are from a previous swap with Scrapbook Adhesives.

Hello Baby Boy and Girl Cards

My latest project for Paper House Productions is a set of baby cards. We had a baby boy and girl join our extended family last month so of course some card making was in order. The Hello Baby Boy and Girl sets were perfect for this task.
Here is a look at the boy card. They are both 6 x 6 size. I made a shaker with some sequins and layered it in front of a cut apart card. I used my Silhouette to cut out the rattle.
Here is the inside of the card. I like to decorate the inside so there is something fun to look at. I made some circle with leftover paper.
Here is a closer look at the girl card. I used my Silhouette to cut out a star and layered a shaker packet behind it. I cut apart the sentiment from a card and outlined the star in black.
I wanted to carry the sentiment through the inside so I made use of the extra star piece and some stickers.
