This was a tricky challenge but now that I'm done, I really like how it turned out. I joined the Scrappy Friends challenge.

The Future Is Bright Layout

I just love this cute little picture of my daughter. I decided to use the mood board at Scrap Around the World to inspire a layout.

I was inspired to use the words as my title. I chose a picture of my daughter when she was 7 months old as her entire future is ahead of her and she is "bright" in every sense of the word. I love the colours and included them in the layout. I also had a mason jar die cut and macaroon chipboard that matched the board. I used circles like the champagne flutes and used some leaves that matched the shapes in the first image. And of course flowers!

I'm also entering the challenge at Clique Kits which is Anything Goes.

Supplies
Papers - American Crafts: Amy Tangerine
Embellishments - MME: Now & Then - Mildred
Flowers - Prima
Stencil - Bo Bunny: Whimsy
Texture Paste - Ranger
Paint - Deco Art: Splendid Gold
Gold Ink - American Crafts: Metallic Ink Marker
Letters - Basic Grey: Mellow
Doily - Michael's

Jenny Layout

I really like the sketch for the Stack-a-holic Challenge this month at DCWV. I chose to scrap the picture my sister-in-law sent me after we sent her some fun mail.

Here is the sketch:

I used the Jolly Whimsy Stack and a page from the Home for Christmas Stack for the background. The ornaments are Mambi Chips. I did a blanket stitch around the triangles. Holy time consuming! However, I could've just stitched the visible spots to save time. I used a plastic mesh to space out my stitches and three strands of embroidery thread.

I'm also entering the Anything Goes Challenge at Clique Kits.

There is also a December Holiday theme at Paper Issues: Owl I Want For Christmas.

Finally, I am entering the challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. The requirement is to scrap a memory of Christmas past with some journaling.

My Little Butterfly Layout - DT Picture This!

I picked up some more work lately which has really taken away from my scrap time but I used some of my extra cash for new supplies! See how everything works out?! I used some of those new supplies on this layout for Picture This! The challenge is to use 1 photo + green + butterfly + flower cluster. My green is more of a teal but there are a few true green gems in there.

All the paper is from the Bo Bunny: Sweet Life collection. The giant butterfly is a part of the paper on another sheet so I cut it out and pasted it to the dot sheet. The butterfly was also white so I used watercolours to paint it to match the butterfly on my daughter's face. I added some blue glitter glue. I blended some Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink around the picture so it would stand out.
Hope you are feeling inspired to play along!

I am also entering this layout in the Anything Goes challenge at Clique Kits.

Precious Layout - Picture This! Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I'm excited to be a part of my first blog hop!

Welcome to the Lets Get Sketchy/Picture This “My One Word” Blog Hop. You should have come from Brenda's blog. If you have stumbled across this by chance and want to play along then you can head back to the Let's Get Sketchy site to start at the beginning and to start collecting your challenge words. These words should be bold on each DT member’s blog. My words are "to make".

The word I chose for my project is “PRECIOUS”. This picture is of my daughter, niece and 2nd cousin. We have so many girl babies joining our family but they won't stay small for long so I'm glad I got a picture of them together. The large butterflies are punched and I used a gold marker to draw on them. Then I folded the wings around a pencil to give them some shape. The smaller butterflies I traced from a die cut that didn't match so I could have a variety of sizes.

Supplies
Papers - Heidi Swapp
Title & Lattice - Creative Embellishments
Arrow - American Crafts: Gold Arrows #9
Paint - DecoArt: Splendid Gold
Gold Marker - American Crafts: Metallic Marker Gold
Flower - Michaels
Butterfly Punch - ek success
Distress Tool - Tim Holtz

Next up on the hop is Sue. Make sure you hop on over to her blog to check out the wonderful inspiration she has for you. Don’t forget, each team member has a word hidden somewhere on their page. Please grab all the words for your chance at an extra prize! My words are "to make".

Remember to play along in our hop challenge to win the wonderful prize from our sponsor, Creative Embellishments! I used some of their products in my project - I love their chipboard! If you get lost along the way, head on back over to Let’s Get Sketchy for the line up!

The Best Gift Is Family Layout - DT Picture This!

Having some scrappy withdrawal. Between picking up some more work, bronchitis, and birthday/Christmas prep, I've had no time to scrap. But I got this layout done for the December challenge at Picture This! The challenge is to use 3 photos + Christmas tree + frame Christmas colours. Hope you can join us in the fun!

I sprayed the page with some white paint but it is hard to see with the lighting. I kind of like the sparkles more than the paint. The paint also doesn't dry on this glitter paper so if anyone knows the trick to make it dry or seal it, pass it on!

I'm also entering this layout at the December challenge at Paper Issues: Owl I Want For Christmas.

Supplies
Paper - Recollections: Fa la la la Stack
Borders - Ki Company
Buttons, string, gold cord, letters, sequins - the stash
Paint - Mr. Huey's White
Heart Punch - Martha Stewart
