A Chill In The Air Layout - PI Spotlight

Hello! We are featuring Crate Paper's Snow & Cocoa collection on the Paper Issues blog today. It is such a great collection for winter. Especially if you have kids. Everything is so cute and fun. I scrapped this picture of the girls wearing their matching snuggies. There were so many words and embellies that referenced the cold, it was hard to decide what to use.
This was a great way to use some scraps from previous layouts and use a variety of embellishments.

Supplies
Crate Paper - Snow & Cocoa
Black paint
Gold embroidery thread
Black cardstock
Fine tip Sharpie pen

Stop by the Paper Issues Store for some Snow & Cocoa! You won't be disappointed!

Ice Ice Baby - Bella Blvd Spotlight at PI

Hello there! On the Paper Issues blog today we are featuring all the new Bella Blvd lines. I chose to work with their Illustrated Faith: You Are Loved collection. This picture matched the paper so I made it work with the collection. We were so hot in Florida last year that we were ecstatic to see a wall of ice. I had to document it.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to design the grid and downloaded a free font called Ice Caps. It was a little tricky to use so I ended up just tracing around my letters instead of using the white caps that came on top of the letters. I copied some of the icicles from the letters and pasted and welded them to the bottom of the grid. I used some pieces from the November Swag Bag which are part of this collection. I also cheated and used a couple penguins from the Christmas Cheer line. The speech bubble is from the new Addison collection.

Supplies
Bella Blvd: You Are Loved (I.F.)
Bella Blvd: Christmas Cheer
Bella Blvd: Addison
Black Cardstock
Black Fine Tip Sharpie Pen
Ice Caps Font
Silhouette Cameo

Wanna Build A Snowman? At Paper Issues

I'm up on the Paper Issues blog today and decided to play with the new Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa Collection. I scrapped a picture of my daughter with the snowman she built with Daddy. I was so impressed with the outfit!

I cut the title with my Silhouette Cameo and used the Comic Sans Serif font. I found the lace at a garage sale and the string at Dollarama. I stapled the top corner after folding it over. I used a white pen to write the date. Of course the remainder of the layout I got from the Paper Issues store! The giant snowflake was in the November Swag Bag.

Supplies
Crate Paper - Snow & Cocoa
Black backing paper - DCWV
Black cardstock
Lace
White pen
Thread
Pop dots
Silver glitter glue

Let It Go Layout - New Issue at PI

It's Round 2 of Going Cold Turkey in Snow-vember. I chose to make a layout with the Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa Collection. It is sooo much fun. Stop by the blog to see what others have made and then join us in the Facebook Fans and Friends group to post your layout.

I used pop dots behind the middle picture and glued an embroidery thread around the paper. I made the flags from the manufacturer's strips and scraps. Finally, I cut the word "snow" off the title and found the "go" in my stash. I contemplated scratching out 'snow' and putting 'go' but was afraid it would get too messy.

Supplies
Crate Paper: Snow & Cocoa
Gold embroidery thread
Chipboard letters
Fine tip Sharpie pen
Pop dots

Halloween Layout - Paper Issues Crop

I was soooo busy with work that I barely got to participate in the Paper Issues crop last weekend. I did however, make this layout to host the "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" challenge. The idea was to use a dark cardstock as a background. I went with the Halloween theme and was happy to get these two older pictures scrapped. The kids are so cute!

I used a cut file from Juliana Michaels and made it repeat. First I cut the outline into the black cardstock. Then I cut the faces into the orange paper. Then I backed it with the negative cuts of black cardstock. I sewed the paper strips on and added a border to my pictures. All the embellishments are from the Crate Paper After Dark collection.

Supplies

Beautiful Girl Layout - Pinkfresh Studio Spotlight at PI

Today the spotlight is on Pinkfresh Studio over at Paper Issues. I|| used the Indigo Hills collection. It's so unique, it is fun to play with. Especially if you like mixed media but are scared to try. The backgrounds are watercolored for you - just add embellishments!

This is another awesome picture by my friend Danielle Serceau. She captured this moment with our special friend "Grandma Betty" while at the lake. I used a cut file from the Silhouette store called "Flowers". I watercolored them in black but not too dark. Then I backed some with paper.

Supplies

Pop dots
Silhouette Cameo
Watercolor black

Five & Fabulous - Mix It Up at PI

It's Mix It Up Monday at Paper Issues. The challenge is to use stamps, and if you like, try to use them in a different way. I chose to watercolor the stamps.

I used white gesso as a base and used a plastic card to spread it. Then a layer of pink paint and kept adding gesso to lighten it. I used my Cameo to cut the title and the font is called Curls.

Supplies
White Cardstock
White Gesso
Pink Paint
Watercolors
November Paper Issues Swag Bag
Stamps: Inkadinkado - Doodle Flowers
Fine Tip Sharpie Pen

Love You Layout - Cut It Up at PI

There is an awesome new FREE cut file in the Paper Issues store. Check out the blog for some ideas, download the file and post your layout in the Facebook Friends and Fans group for a chance to win a store credit. I love backing cut files and this one is so easy to work with. The shapes are a nice size and not difficult to fill. I chose a picture from when my daughter painted my nails for the first time. It was so cute. Her Sparks troop set up a soaking station, massage station, lotion and polish.

I was late to the Fancy Free party, so I still have lots of this collection. It's kinda ridiculous how easy these papers work with everything and each other. Here is the cut file.

Supplies
Pink Paislee: Fancy Free
Silhouette Cameo
White Cardstock
Fine Tip Sharpie Pen

Thankful and Grateful Layout - Pinspire Me at PI

There is a lovely fall mood board at Paper Issues today. Head over to the blog to be inspired, then post your project in the Facebook group for a chance to win!

Here is the mood board. I was inspired by the flowers and the colors. The colors made me reach for this collection. I tried to follow an old Paper Issues sketch but I ended up flipping everything on its side and went from there. This was one of those layouts where I wasn't sure when to stop embellishing! I had so many to choose from it was hard to not let everything get out of control.
Supplies

Hello Fall Layout - Product Spotlight at PI

On the Paper Issues blog today is a spotlight on the Hello Fall collection by Simple Stories. I'm a huge Simple Stories fan so of course I joined this challenge. I've been wanting to do a quilt pattern for some time and I finally found one that I thought I could recreate without too much trouble.

This was a lot of fun and not too difficult. I found the pattern on Pinterest and here is a link to the website where the pin was created. I used my Silhouette Cameo to draw one triangle of each size and then copied and pasted them to cut the correct number. I'm definitely going to be looking for some more quilt patterns to try.

Puppy Love Layout - Pawsitively Pets at PI

Well, it's time for the pet challenge again at Paper Issues. This time around you are challenged to use 3 or more patterned papers and a splash of paint or mist. No pets in our house, so I used these pictures of my daughter with her stuffie puppy which may as well be her pet. It is her all time favorite stuffie.

Give it a try and post it in the Facebook Friends and Fans for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. I'm slowly getting pages done in my Disney album. I loved how the three background papers fell together on my desk and gave me the nudge to begin this layout.

Here is the sketch designed by Amy Coose.

Sweet Heart Layout - Gather Spotlight at PI

It's a great day to check out the Paper Issues blog. We are featuring layouts using the Maggie Holmes "Gather" Collection. There are so many papers and embellishments in this collection, you really can't go wrong. I chose this baby picture for the colours and the fact it is one of my fav's and it still isn't scrapped.

I really wanted to paint these flowers. I didn't want to do the whole page because then it would look like any other patterned paper. But it was so much fun it was hard not keep painting. I will definitely be trying this again. I used watercolour paints.

Be sure to link-up your Gather layouts in the Facebook Friends and Fans group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store!

Wonderful Layout - Take 5 at PI

It's Take 5 time at Paper Issues. Stop by the blog to be inspired, then post your layout in the Facebook Friends and Fans group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. I used: more than 1 photo, manufacturer's strips, stickers, hand written journaling, title.

Here's the inspiration list:

I was inspired by #15. I cut off all the manufacturer's strips from my Posh collection and then layered them behind my pictures. I love all the cards in Simple Stories collections and I used this 'wonderful' one for my title. I actually made a painted background but at the end of the day it didn't look right and used this fun patterned paper.

Supplies
Simple Stories: Posh Collection
Date stickers - Crate Paper: Gather
