Life Documented Layout - Sketches In Thyme DT

Who doesn't love a picture of cousins all piled up on the couch? Always a challenge to get a decent picture but you have to try when the occasion presents itself.

Here is this week's fabulous sketch at Sketches In Thyme:

I really wanted to use my Silhouette to make flowers resembling those in the Simple Stories I Am line. I used a cut file from their store called Doodle Roses and cut all the pieces apart. I decided things were busy enough without doing several layers of matting so I just kept it to the three pieces of paper. I cut the camera out of a second pieces of paper and glued it on top of the first one so it would bring it to the front. I loved the safety pin and had to use one!

Supplies
Paper - Simple Stories: I Am and Life In Color
Black paper - Colorbok: Midnight Garden
Tag - Fancy Pants: Attwell
Embellishments - Simple Stories: Life Documented

Daily Adventure Layout

The cousins love to ride the quad to take out the garbage every day at the lake. Taking out the garbage is the thing to do!

I used the sketch from the Midweek Mojo Orchid #8.

This sketch was so easy to work with and even better when breaking open a new kit. I love this Simple Stories You Are Here Collection. I painted the wood veneers after humming and hawing over whether to leave them alone or colour them. I thought since the page is simple, it could use more colour interest.

Birds Of A Feather Layout

I'm so glad Pinkfresh Studio had a challenge this month to start with one object and see where your creativity takes you. I'm such a sketch addict it was nice to just play. Also, I bought many papers from Life Noted and they have so many designs that really can't use a sketch so this was perfect. I chose the background paper as my starting point.

I found this picture of my daughter and her cousin which matched the colours of the paper. I used the plastic wrap technique to put pink acrylic paint all over. Then I decided to use the title that I cut from a file by Laura Whitaker. I have no embellishments from Pinkfresh as they had sold out when I bought the paper. So I discovered that Simple Stories Life Documented matches. I cut the title then realized that the woodgrain didn't show up on the pink so I went back and cut the outline of the title in black. I love how that turned out! I found a bird and feather stencil from Bo Bunny and used texture paste mixed with paint. I painted the doily black and added some yellow splatters. Finally, some embellishment hearts and tags.

I'm also playing along at Rochelle Spears - This or That Challenge. I used birds (not butterflies).
I'm also joining the Mix It Up Monday Challenge at Paper Issues. The challenge is to use acrylic paint.

There is also an Anything Goes Challenge at Clique Kits this month.

Costume Layout

Every August long weekend there is a costume parade at the lake. Our friend Danielle Serceau took this photo and shared it with us. She is an awesome photographer and does some freelance work. I love how you can't see my daughter's face because of the costume but she's standing there like a champ for the photo.

I used the sketch from the Midweek Mojo Orchid #7 challenge.

I chose my picture and kit based on the challenge at The Paper Girls - The Great Outdoors. I recently purchased the My Mind's Eye: Happy Camper kit and wanted to try it out. I mixed in a few other MME products.

There is also an Anything Goes Challenge at Clique Kits this month.

Today Was Awesome Layout

First page of 2016 pictures! I've got tons of playground pictures which are so fun to scrap so I decided to print them and get 2016 started. There are still 4 Costco order boxes full on my desk but I've got all summer right?

I couldn't wait to dive into this new Jillibean Soup Collection (Healthy Hello Soup). It is like they went into my daughter's closet and made paper to match! It is going to be so easy to match up pictures with these papers. I used a sketch from My Creative Sketches to make the layout.
