So Very Merry for Paper House Productions and Thermoweb

This week the Paper House Productions team is teaming up with Thermoweb. They have all sorts of foils and adhesive products. I've never used foils before so this was a lot of fun adding something new to my repertoire.
What better way to show off foil than with Christmas lights? I've been wanting to use some of the cut files I've purchased so the Paige Evans tree became my starting point. I sprayed mist on the tree and spread it with a paint brush. Just before it dried I sprayed it with Color Shine.
I cut the Christmas lights with my Silhouette Cameo. The cord was in black, the lights in white. I used a glue pen to spread adhesive on the lights and let them dry. Then I placed the foil with the color side up and pressed it firmly into the adhesive. Then I peeled the foil liner away. I also foiled the star on top of the tree and the title. I also used black photo corners from Thermoweb to add more interest to my photos.
I outlined the tree with a pencil on my base paper. Then I spread yellow ink with a foam dabber. To finish off the layout I used the Paper House micro stickers to add touches to the tree, stars to the background and presents under the tree.
Please check out the links below for some awesome products and make sure to see what the design team has been creating all week!

Celebrating Finley for S.I.T.

It's been awhile since I've posted as I'm in my busy season at work. But it's nice taking a break and making a layout. This week has a really neat sketch at Sketches In Thyme. I struggle sometimes to get multiple photos on a page but this sketch made it so easy. You also can't go wrong with photos of a baby eating birthday cake.
Here is the sketch:
There is a really nice prize up for grabs this month so head over to the blog and upload your layout!

I have so many birthday pictures and never get around to scrapping them, so the More Than Words challenge gave me the push I needed. The challenge is to scrap about birthdays and to use two tags on your layout. I also used a sketch from Stuck Sketches.

Cake Layout for S.I.T.

I'm up on the Sketches In Thyme blog today with this colourful birthday layout. I was so lucky to win the new Jillibean Soup Souper Celebration collection from Page Maps so I had to dig in right away. This sketch was perfect for a fun, bright layout. Yes, I did try to decorate my husband's cake with his favorite hockey team logo. The effort was appreciated!
Here is the sketch by Shawn Lahr:

I used a combination of my Silhouette machine and a circle cutting stencil. I hope you can play along this month for a chance to win a great prize!

All Tied Up Layout - Sketches In Thyme

There is a great sketch this week at Sketches In Thyme. It's so easy to use - you can make it really simple or really complicated. I began with my pictures and liked how the colours match the Jillibean Soup Healthy Hello Collection. Since the papers in this collection are quite busy, I decided to keep the layout fairly simple with a plain cardstock background and borders around the papers so they didn't get lost in one another.
Here is the sketch:
No automatic alt text available.
I decided to not use the flag on the left but add some string since my theme was "all tied up".
Supplies
Jillibean Soup - Healthy Hello
Blue cardstock
Yellow embroidery thread
I hope you can find time to join the challenge this week. Thanks for stopping by!
