Dive Into Summer Layouts Part 1 - Scrap Shotz

Hello! I'm back with two Echo Park - Dive Into Summer layouts for Scrap Shotz. This is a really fun collection. I love how Echo Park has a variety of plain and pattern papers as well as cut apart cards. The theme here is water. Think beach and pool. So for my first layout I pulled out the pictures of my daughter entering the annual sand castle building competition at the lake last summer. She worked so hard on this and even made her volcano explode and played dramatic music for the presentation. It was such a great day!
I layered a whole bunch of papers for this layout. I often find it hard to use the really busy pattern papers but I couldn't pass up a whole paper of sand castles! The yellow paper is Bazzill cardstock - Desert Marigold. The center title is from a cut apart card in the paper kit. The rest of the layout is all sorts of different embellishments - chipboard beach arrow stickerpuffy sticker shells and sand castle, ephemera and tags, cardstock stickers from the paper kit and brads. I love those brads. The best part is they are adhesive and don't have the metal clips on the back. Here is a close-up of those brads.
My second layout you may have seen at our online crop. I hosted a summer/school challenge and this was my sample layout. It is using the same kit so I thought I would share it in case you missed it. Plus it was so fun to make. It's not everyday I get to design a bikini.
I got the idea because there is a paper with a bunch of bathing suits on it plus I'm in love with this flower paper and wanted to use as much of it as possible. I drew the bikini on a piece of scrap paper and then cut it out and traced it onto the flower paper. Those brads really worked well on the bathing suit. Then it was a matter of decorating with puffy stickers, cardstock stickers and ephemera.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone is able to get in the water soon - it is really warming up where I live.

New Moon Collection at Scrap Shotz

Hello everyone! I'm here today to show you a layout from a new collection in the Scrap Shotz Shop. It is called New Moon by P13. One side of the papers has a night time feel (think stars and moons). The other side of the paper has a daytime, garden feel (think flowers, leaves and even some bugs!).

I decided to scrap these pictures of my daughter overtaking my new shelf with her dolls. As I was setting it up, she was setting it up as her own. I thought the purples and blues in the pictures would work well with the blue background. I also thought the stars went with the idea of sleep.

I used the April sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine as inspiration.
No photo description available.
For the title, I layered a few of these tags. I used the purple alphabet stickers on the bottom and layered the blue Happy Birthday collection alphabet stickers on top. I used a white pen to journal.

To back the photos, I used paper #3. Then I fussy cut the flowers from paper #2. To embellish the page, I added some decorative tags and phrase stickers. The good night sticker is from this sticker sheet.

That's all for now. Make sure to join the Scrap Shotz Facebook Group. There is going to be an online crop on May 2. Hope you can join us!

Happy Birthday Layouts and Cards for Scrap Shotz

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and finding some extra scrappy time. It felt good to get scrappy again after a few crazy weeks. It was even better having this bright and cheery birthday line to work with. This might be the first time you've products by this company - P13. Check out the links in this post to see the products up close in the Scrap Shotz shop.

I'll start with this birthday layout using a cut file. If you would like to use this cut file, it is free on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog. It is designed by Paige Evans.
I used paper #5 for the background and a piece of white cardstock for the cut file. I then used all the different papers in the collection to back the title. I traced around the file and cut the insides slightly smaller than my tracing and use a glue pen to attach the cut outs.

I fussy cut lots of pictures from paper #7 to decorate the page. I used some dimensional glue dots to lift them off the page a little. I added a few phrase stickers from this sheet. The flag at the top is from this tag pack. Lastly, the date is done in these alpha stickers.

I made another layout using the March sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Check out their Facebook group! For this layout, I used paper #4 as the background. I matted the photos with Bazzill Lagoon cardstock and paper #3.
The yellow dots are Liquid Pearls. I put them on scalloped circles I made with punches. Many of the tags are from the flag pack and the circle pack. Can you figure out where the yellow paper came from with my journaling? It is the backing of the tag packs.
No photo description available.
Lastly, I used some leftover papers to make 2 cards. Just so happens we had two birthdays this month so the timing was perfect.
The cards use some fussy cutting and cut apart cards. The finishing touch was using the Liquid Pearls. Here are some close-ups.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have you joined our new Facebook group? It is called the Scrap Shotz Papercrafting Friends Group. Come join us so we can share together. Stay safe everyone!

Star Struck layout for Scrap Shotz.

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing well and looking for some ideas with the February kit. The kit is full of Vicki Boutin "Let's Wander" supplies. There are lots of stars so I used them to inspire a layout with some fun pictures we took at Mme Tussaud's a few years ago.
I got to play with lots of fun supplies with this layout. The star bursts were made with a stencil called Starstruck. Seems like it was fate that it goes with the title of the layout. I used Liquid Pearls to fill in the stencil and then dab some extra dots to make the paint thicker. I also used the pearls on the wooden stars. They can be found in the Scrap Shotz store here

The background paper comes in a paper pad. The cute little envelope with matching card are a great way to add a journaling space on a busy layout. The title uses the Thicker set which I'm really happy has made 3 titles without running out of any letters. Finally, I've embellished the layout with die cuts and chipboard stickers

Let's Wander Layouts for Scrap Shotz

Hello everyone! Today I have 2 layouts using the February kit from SCRAP SHOTZ. This kit is full of Vicki Boutin "Let's Wander" goodness. The theme of this collection is "travel" so I'm getting caught up with my vacation pictures from last summer.
For the first layout, I fussy cut some photo frames to create a summary of our trip to the Maritimes. I really like the map paper and the thumb tacks were just asking to be stuck to it! The embellishments came from the ephemera pack and chipboard set. Here is a close-up.
For the second layout, I decided to use the February sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Head over to their Facebook group to post your creations. Here is what it looks like:
No photo description available.
Here is my layout:
I chose to change the hearts to stars and scrap about my daughter golfing for the first time. The colours in the pictures match the papers in the kit so I thought that would be a good starting point. The large star is cut on my Silhouette Cameo and the smaller stars are fussy cut from one of the papers. I used the Thickers in my kit for the title but felt like I was still missing something so I added some background stars with white gesso and black pen to match the style of the Thickers. I'm not a big risk taker and this was a bit scary to do. I admit I originally shaded in the stars black but decided to make them white with the gesso to match the title. A little chipboard camera, star and arrows and the layout is complete.

Thanks for stopping by! Have fun with your February kit!
