Hello everyone! I hope you will be able to join the challenge this week at Sketches In Thyme. This sketch was so much fun and I decided to take the plunge and do some mixed media. I had to practice on another sheet but it payed off because I really like how it turned out.
Here is the fabulous sketch:
I began with the Snapshot Stack because it has these polaroid frames like the sketch. Next, I went through my photos and chose the one I did because the frames would fit if I cut the photo in half. The colours also went nicely with the Snapshot Stack so I continued to work from it. I used the plastic packaging technique with the red paint and then splattered a few colours. I used texture paste mixed with black paint and a stencil for the upper arrows.
I'm also going to play along with the Anything Goes Mix It Up Monday at Paper Issues.

Choose Silliness Layout
Not really sure what my daughter was doing in this picture but whatever it was, it was silly.
I was inspired by the sketch at Creative Scrappers. I thought for awhile about what those circles could represent and went through my cut files looking for inspiration. But at the end of the day I thought emojis could work and I like how they turned out. They are paper pieced. I designed the pieces in Silhouette Studio and glued them on. Originally, I was going to use a white background paper but I'm glad I switched to black. However, I could've just had my machine cut the yellow faces if I had known.
The title is the lower case outline alpha file from Just Nick. I looked through the stash to find paper the same colour as my daughter's shirt. I found it in the Let's Be Mermaids kit. I think it is funny I buy it to use with my swimming pictures and here I break it open for an emoji layout.
I added some stitching and splatters to play along with the Mix It Up Monday challenge at Paper Issues.

Splash Park Layout
I've been wanting to make a double page layout of these pictures for a long time and decided this was the day to do it. Anytime I need a double page sketch I check out Let's Scrap. Of course they did not disappoint and had an awesome sketch that worked really well for me. Click on the picture and check out all the stuff that is packed into this layout!
Here is the sketch from Let's Scrap. I just love that pocket at the top which made me dig some out of my stash. I also joined the Twofer Tuesday challenge at Paper Issues.
Let me tell you, this layout was fun to make but the headaches with my Silhouette machine - yikes! I just got the cut file for the title and it wanted to double cut every time I traced it. I searched everywhere on the Internet to find the solution which seemed to be turn off the high pass filter. Well that wouldn't let me trace at all. So finally I changed file formats to PNG and that allowed me to trace. But then it wouldn't let me weld! Finally, I just colored in the outline of the word, traced it, and it did the same thing as welding. So I've had no sleep and my daughter is not impressed with the time this has taken - lol. Hopefully, this might help someone as I saw a lot of people asking for help with these issues. If anyone knows what I need to do to fix these problems please feel free to comment!

Funny Hats Layout
Hello everyone! Here is a layout about my daughter making hats out of one of the toys at the lake. I love all the colours in this picture so I've been waiting for just the right kit to scrap it. The Simple Stories Bloom and Grow has so many of these colours it was perfect. Plus I hadn't dug into it yet and I really wanted to!
I began with the sketch at Paper Issues this month.
Then I went to my Silhouette files to find the perfect circle file. I decided on the August 2016 and June 2016 files from the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog made by Nicole Nowosad.
I finished by fussy cutting the flowers in the bottom left.
I'm also joining the Clique Kits Anything Goes challenge.

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere Layout
I hope you are having a great day like my father-in-law in this picture. He is always checking to make sure everyone has a beverage and I guess his pockets came in handy that day.
I used the sketch at the Midweek Mojo Marigold #2.
I began with the picture because it worked really well as a square and I thought it would be a lot of fun to scrap. Then I pulled out my camping stash. I really wanted some orange to match his shirt but I didn't have much so I spent way to long trying to select papers. I put the papers aside and decided that the title would be even harder to match so I pulled all the brown, blue and orange alphas out and played around with them until I got what you see. I added the clouds when I realized I left a lot of space at the top and I didn't want to move all those alphas! I decided not to use the top strip in the sketch because the page was already busy.
I'm also joining the Clique Kits Anything Goes Challenge.
I'm also joining the Cut Shoppe Challenge where you use one of their files. I used the Happy Clouds file.

Ice Cream Layout
When you're on a roll, you've got to keep going. I pulled this picture of my daughter eating ice cream when I was looking for pictures for my last layout. This Sunshine and Happiness kit has so many ice cream related items, I knew it would be my next layout. The best part about this picture is that she is eating an ice cream sandwich in a waffle cone. I'm thinking this was my husband's idea!
I began by pulling all the ice cream related stuff out of the kit. I played around with where I would put each item and finally decided on a grid design. I was going to stitch in between the grids but then I laid the dotted paper in there and liked that idea better. I fussy cut the arrows and put them on black cardstock with some pop dots along with the tag and middle cluster. I added some enamel dots to the sprinkles on the ice cream cones which looks really cool in person.
I'm going the Anything Goes Challenge at Clique Kits with this layout.
I'm also playing along with the Product Spotlight at Paper Issues.

Hot Florida Layout
Hi there! Back with another Sunshine and Happiness layout - as promised. This time I used photos of my daughter on our Florida vacation. It was so ridiculously hot every day. Being a teacher, it was really the only time we could make the trip so we just had to make due with the heat. I don't know why, but every time I have a cold drink I put it on my forehead to cool down. My daughter must've noticed because she thought it might work to put the giant water bottle on her head.
I used the sketch from My Creative Sketches to inspire this layout.
I fussy cut all the flowers and made the banner with black cardstock.
I was also inspired by the product spotlight at Paper Issues.
I'm also joining the Fabulous Florals challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Hello Sunshine Layout
I can't get enough of this Sunshine and Happiness kit! Expect a bunch more layouts to be posted here. It is so easy to use and has so many options, I just love it. Here is a random picture of my daughter at the beach. She likes digging deep to where the clay is and then spreads it around her sand castles. It sticks to everything and is not my favorite thing but when you are four it is awesome.
I used this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.
I'm also joining the product spotlight at Paper Issues.
I used a ruler to pencil the lines for the sunburst. Then I used a plastic canvas to create the dots for the stitching. I tapped my pencil in each hole. Then I poked each hole with my needle. Next I erased the pencil lines and did a backstitch with the embroidery thread. Maybe there is a faster way to do this but this method worked pretty good.
