Another Spring Layout

I'm on a roll with the spring layouts. It helps to have the awesome Doodlebug Flower Box kit that is perfect for spring.

I loved the sketch at Grand Diva's Creative Corner for this month's Scrappy Friends Challenge. I never use diagonal lines in this way so this was a new look that I like.

I also entered Rochelle Spear's Tic Tac Toe part of the challenge. I used tickets, picture frames and chevrons.

The third challenge was at Creating with Paper and More. Use any word from the image below. I used the word "spring".
Thanks for taking a peek!

Lovely Couple Layout

I'm so excited to post this layout. I'm just getting the hang of clustering embellishments. I've learned not to stop at a couple, just keep adding! I also love this picture. Danielle Serceau beautifully captured our friends at the lake whom we call "Grandma and Grandpa".

I began with the sketch for April 15, 2015 from Stuck?! Sketches.

I then decided to use the colours black, white and pink for the challenge at Scrap It Girl. The challenge was to use black, white and one other colour. The pink paper is from Glitz Designs and the stripes and tag are DCWV All Dressed Up. The flowers and swirls around the photo are Recollections. The letters are Doodlebug Jack and Jill. The buttons, string and ribbon are all random bits and pieces I've been collecting.

I also entered the Overboard Challenge at Red Carpet Studios. I had to use a feminine and a masculine element. Mine were "Grandma and Grandpa" and the "flowers and buttons".

Thanks for stopping by and I welcome your feedback!

Spring Layout

After a gorgeous weekend of 20+ degrees it snowed today and is really dreary. However, I saw this layout lying on my desk and it instantly made me feel better. All weekend I was struggling to make it work so I was happy that after letting it sit for a day, I really liked it. It doesn't hurt that this is one of my favourite pictures that has been waiting too long to be scrapbooked.

I used a Doodlebug - Flower Box kit and some Stampin' Up gems.
I followed the sketch for the April 2015 "It's A Sketchy Challenge" at the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine site. Here is the sketch:
April 2015 Sketch
I also entered the Beyond Grey Challenge #67: Spring Green with Spring Elements.
I used mostly green pictures with green background paper, flowers and green gems. I also took the challenge quite literally with the spring title and flowers.

Another challenge was at Creating with Paper and More. I had to use a word from the list given. I used the word "spring" in my title.

Thanks for taking a look and happy spring!

Letter to Santa Layout

I know everyone is excited the snow is gone but I still enjoyed making this Christmas layout. Maybe it has to do with taking a break from report card writing? I got to use my DCWV Jolly Whimsy Stack for the first time and document my daughter's first letter to Santa. Everything except the photo anchors and ribbon are from the Jolly Whimsy Stack.

I used the sketch from the DCWV April 2015 Stack-a-holic Challenge.

www.pagemaps.com

My daughter dictated the letter to me and then signed her own name at the bottom. I love how proud and excited she looks (in her crazy outfit - not sure where that came from).

I also used elements on this page to enter the Scrap Our Stash Contest for April. You have to use items from the word STAMP. Here are mine:

S - scalloped polka dot paper
T - tags
A - anchors for photos
M - matted pictures
P - postage stamps

Challenge #46 at Anything But a Card was to use the colour gold. I used lots of gold to highlight the various aspects of the layout.

Thanks for checking out my first scrappy post!

Welcome to my Blog!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will find these ramblings useful, entertaining, insightful, amazing...or at least worth the time you spend here.

Here is a little about me...
I am a mom to a fun and chatty four-year-old girl. I find it fascinating watching her personality come to life and love documenting it in my scrapbook. I began scrapbooking as a way to deal with post-partum anxiety and now that my daughter is a bit older and I'm feeling better, I'm finding I have a little more time to improve my skills. I plan on posting my scrapping journey here.

I also enjoy spending time with my husband and his huge extended Francophone family and my not-as-huge Anglophone family. During the work week I teach and coach. In the few moments I have leftover, I love to read and look for deals (I swear one of my daughter's first phrases was "is this on sale?"). Stay tuned for posts on these subjects.

Happy reading!
